WhatsApp Business API is Metaâs official solution designed for medium and large businesses. It enables automated customer communication, CRM integrations, chatbot support, and bulk messaging. Unlike the WhatsApp Business App (intended for small businesses), the API offers greater flexibility, scalability, and advanced functionality.
Bitrix24 is a powerful CRM used by businesses and teams around the globe. It helps organize contacts, track deals, manage tasks, and streamline workflows.
By integrating WhatsApp Business API with Bitrix24 through Umnico, you bring the two platforms together â so you can manage conversations directly from your CRM, automate WhatsApp notifications and marketing message blasting based on triggers, ensuring a transparent and manageable sales pipeline.
Key benefits of integrating WhatsApp Business API with Bitrix24 via Umnico:
â All WhatsApp Business API chats land directly in Bitrix24 â each message creates a new deal automatically.
â Ability to reply to messages from WhatsApp Business API and rich out first using templates in the platform interface.
â Automate business processes: add tags, update statuses, assign team members.
â Connect unlimited accounts and channels â handle large volumes of messages and media.
â Get insights with detailed analytics on response times, inquiry sources, and team performance.
WhatsApp Business API operates exclusively through Metaâs servers. To connect a number to the WhatsApp Business API, it must be fully disconnected from the mobile app â otherwise, Meta will not approve the connection request.
To make your number available for WhatsApp Business API:
đ You can return the number to the mobile app 1â1.5 months after disconnecting it from the API.
â Connecting the number back to the app before verification is complete will void your application. Doing so afterward will disable your API access.
Business verification is not required to register a WhatsApp Business API number. You can start by linking your phone number to your Facebook Page during setup.
However, official verification from Meta allows you to initiate up to 1,000 conversations per day and gradually increase this limit if you comply with their commerce policy. To learn how to verify your business read this article further.

Integrating WhatsApp Business API with Bitrix24 allows you to manage customer conversations quickly, clearly, and in one place â speeding up response time and improving your support and sales processes.
By default, every new message from WhatsApp Business API creates a new deal in Bitrix24. If the contact or company doesnât exist yet, itâs created automatically. If you prefer to handle inquiries as tasks instead, you can switch this in Open Line settings. Use deals for sales, and tasks for support â itâs fully flexible based on your process.
If the customer already exists in your CRM (by name or phone number), Bitrix24 automatically links the incoming WhatsApp Business API message to their profile. This keeps your communication history unified and prevents duplicates.
By default, Bitrix24 doesnât include a built-in «Reach out First» button for messengers. However, you can initiate a conversation manually from any lead, deal, contact, or company card using Telegram or other Open Line channels (e.g., WhatsApp, Viber).
đĄ Use the «New message» button in the Umnico widget to streamline communication. Umnico widget allows you to reach out first across Telegram Personal, WhatsApp, Email, and WhatsApp Business API. It also supports rich text formatting, attachments, and more.
If a customer messages you again after a deal has been closed, Bitrix24 can either reopen the existing deal or create a new one â depending on your CRM channel settings: CRM â Open Lines â Channel Settings.
Incoming messages can be assigned either manually or automatically. In Open Line settings, you can configure queues, routing rules, and team member priorities â ensuring each message goes to the right person.
Bitrix24 provides detailed reports on inquiries, task handling, and team performance. Reports are available under Analytics and can be customized based on access roles and team structure.
